Mother Mary!

Every once in a while I order tomato juice on an airplane because somehow it seems like the right thing to do when at 30,000 feet. Each time I drink a can of the slightly processed stuff my imagination wanders about how I can improve this classic in y own kitchen. Back on land, I started experimenting, tossing in spices and veggies. With the help of a few surprise ingredients I landed on a staple that has me drinking up the tomato goodness.

Serves 1

3 tomatoes
2 stalks celery
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 jalapeno
8 shakes hot sauce
2 teaspoons horseradish
1 inch fresh cut ginger
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Blend it.
Chill in the fridge until cold, about 2 hours.
