French fries can be an unhealthy addiction for sure, but with this recipe I uncovered from some creative kitchen exploration, my sweet and savory cravings are satisfied in a wholesome, nourishing way. Prob not a great idea to eat gobs of these instead of greens every day, but when the craving strikes, there is no need for deprivation with this recipe handy. Enjoy!
2 sweet potatoes, sliced
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup maple syrup
pinch of sea salt
Soak the sweet potatoes in water for 30 minutes, then drain them and try them with a paper towel.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
Combine the sweet potatoes in a bowl with the coconut oil and maple syrup.
MIx until the sweet potatoes are thoroughly coated.
Place on cookie sheet and sprinkle with sea salt.
Bake for 35 minutes, tossing the fries occasionally with a spatula to avoid burning.
Remove them from the oven, and let them cool a bit.
